Self Portrait

One thing that characterises my art (well, characterises me really!) is this dichotomy between chaos and control.
I didn't actually realise this until recently. I've always been radically up and down with mood, one minute bouncing around on the clouds and the next falling down a deep dark hole. It seems that when I'm down the hole, I paint in a very chaotic, brash, quick way. But when I'm riding high, I do these quite controlled, calm, often geometric things.
The constant tends to be the circles.
