Miniature Landscapes

These miniature oil paintings reflect elements of my larger artworks, in tiny details. Each symbolises our relationship with nature and captures the atmosphere of place and weather, inspired by the drama of the Yorkshire Moors. Some contain the electricity of rolling clouds and building storms. Some create a safe space of peace, the sun hanging still in the misty air.
 
I like the idea of reducing a landscape to a miniature size, allowing a tiny portal on a wall to transport us to another place, through colour, direction of brush strokes and textural marks. These are ideal for small nooks in your house where you might sit with them a while, or to add to an in-home gallery wall with artworks of other sizes.
 
The miniature landscapes are all mounted in hand-crafted frames, made from scratch and sanded and stained for a rustic feel. Each is wired on the reverse, ready to hang in your home.
